I have seen on Twitter that you are collaborating with Amar Singh for the extension into basketball. Can I ask how is that effort advancing?
As for ball tracking, one question, do you use a specific model just for the ball (and a different one for players) or you use a mixed one (more efficient resource wise but maybe not as good detecting the ball)
I have found this repository for ball tracking that I believe would be extremely interesting for the project: https://github.com/nttcom/WASB-SBDT. It is MIT licensed so you could just enhance your project with it (I see you are particularly interested in ball tracking improvements).
