Engine Start

I appreciate all the work here, and I saw the FAQ, but I wanted to ask anyway because it wasn't entirely clear to me what was going on. My biggest, but not only, use-case for the integration is for starting the car.

On the Volvo developer site I was able to test and start my car via the API: https://developer.volvocars.com/apis/connected-vehicle/v2/specification/

I used the "Try it out" section and authorized using my Volvo ID:

Then I played around with the different endpoints and finally tried the engine-start and noticed that it worked (the car started).

So is it that something is different about how this is or has to be implemented in HA that prevents this from working?

The API user we’re using is not entitled to use that endpoint. When you are using the developer portal, you have access to all endpoints.

To this day, Volvo is not allowing us to create an API application/user with access to that endpoint. Several people have tried, including me, none succeeded so far.

Did you try reaching out to opensource at volvo cars as well? I just sent them an email, figured it was worth a shot.
