YouTube Controls Auto-Hider

This is a simple Chrome extension that hides the YouTube controls after a few seconds of inactivity when the video is paused. The controls will reappear when the video is played or when the mouse is moved. This extension is useful for taking screenshots of paused videos without the controls getting in the way.

The controls can be manually hidden by pressing the Ctrl + M / Cmd + M keyboard shortcut.

Installation

  1. Enable Developer mode in Chrome by going to chrome://extensions/.
  2. Click on Load unpacked and select the extension folder.
  3. The extension should now be installed and ready to use.

Usage

  1. Open a YouTube video in Chrome.
  2. Pause the video and wait for the controls to disappear.
  3. Move the mouse to make the controls reappear.
  4. Press Ctrl + M / Cmd + M to manually hide the controls.
